Key leadership positions are often held by talented and dynamic individuals. Many of these leaders have styles and communication skills that served them well enough to secure top positions in an organization. To continue their growth, these leaders may require individualized, goal driven development from a trusted and skilled coach. In the coaching relationship, the executive and coach create specific developmental goals or identify interpersonal challenges that can be detrimental if not addressed. From there, the executive and coach examine motivations and necessary changes to make, and practice skills that make these changes natural for the executive. In the process, the executive has an opportunity to discuss challenges with an unbiased person dedicated to his or her success. This coaching relationship is equally helpful for new and incumbent executives, as well as for those aspiring to achieve executive positions.
