The Inclusive Leader

Leaders will learn the skills needed to build an inclusive workplace — beyond just respecting differences.

In biology, inclusion means “a body or particle recognizably distinct from the substance in which it is embedded”. In organizations, inclusion is a key component as to whether organizations reap the benefit of a variety of talent, ideas and individuals. Just as in biological definition, our organizations are made up of individuals who are distinct and unique. Leaders who learn to tap into this variety create teams of individual who feel connected, committed and valued. In this program, leaders learn the skills needed to build an inclusive workplace—beyond just respecting differences.

Your organization may need this session if:

  • Leaders seek to solve most problems and business challenges without much input from others.
  • Individual managers and leaders are unaware of their natural biases when making decisions, managing change and communicating with others.
  • The workforce is less than engaged as a result of lack of interaction between different groups such as different generations, cultures and roles.
  • Leaders lack a clear understanding of the value of engagement and involvement of those who are different from themselves.

  • Enlist the involvement and support of others.
  • Adapt to the needs of others, especially by ensuring that others are willing and able to contribute in discussions and problem solving.
  • Utilize people-resources to their full potential; coach and list to the opinions and solutions of others and seek deep understanding before reacting.
  • Facilitate conflict discussions, mediating when necessary.

Logistics:

  • Three-and-half-day workshop with multi-rater feedback and decision-making inventories as part of pre-work
  • Includes a four-hour simulation on Day Two
